If we asked you to describe a tea towel, you likely wouldn’t know what to say. Honestly, have you ever been surprised by a tea towel? Has a tea towel ever inspired an emotional response or gotten you jazzed on an aesthetic level? We doubt it… Unfortunately, the tea towel is one of those utilitarian textiles that designers tend to ignore. Unlike the t-shirt for example, which has largely earned its stripes.
But that was all before the creation of the Sublimons les saveurs de l’ivresse tea towel. Our original creation began with an ultra-classic model featuring a woven border. Vava Dudu reinterpreted the classic tea towel, adding notebook-style lines and elements from her various disciplines: poetry, graphic design and textile design.
The result is an ode to the pleasures of the mouth. Because a tea towel is never far from the kitchen and its ensuing feasts. The most careful among you will frame it. Those with more of a punk attitude will use it to dry the dishes, even at the risk of staining the good china with acrylic paint! The tea towel pictured here is the only one of its kind that’s been produced for the time being. But Vava Dudu will produce more of them, upon special order.
